“Square K” was the tail marking for B-17’s in the 447th Bombardment Group (Heavy) in the 8th Air Force during World War II. The 447th was activated on April 6th, 1943 and inactivated on November 7th, 1945. The Group flew out of Rattlesden, England and supported air operations including Big Week, D-Day, and the Battle of the Bulge. Square K Energy Solutions, Inc. founder Chad Moore’s granduncle was a tail gunner with the 447th BG who was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart in 1944.

Square K is a tribute to Kenyon Miller, the 447th Bomb Group, and all of the great men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces.
